Alliance System FAQ

Hello Pirates,

Recently, we held a vote regarding the alliance system topic, which can be found at https://forum.battleofsea.com/tr/thread-87. In this thread, we mentioned that the balance of power in the game is constantly shifting, and you should vote with the awareness that while you may be the stronger side today, you could be the weaker side tomorrow. On the day we opened the vote, all the islands were in one alliance. However, as you can see in the image below, today's guild islands have completely reversed, with all the islands now gathering in the other alliance. We want to remind you again that power will change hands again in a short time, as it always has and will continue to do so throughout our game's six-year life.

While the frequent shift of power is a positive aspect, the alliance that takes all the islands reduces the competition and fun in the game. A side without any islands finds it difficult to even complete missions in the game. We clearly state that we always support equal or near-equal power, which is why we continue to make updates to support weaker guilds and alliances. Let's remember, equal and balanced competition always leads to more enjoyable battles.

Our alliance system is entirely new and planned from scratch. Therefore, initially, there may be shortcomings or disadvantages for the game. We will observe these shortcomings over time and improve the alliance system with future updates. Our goal is to adjust the balance of power, so we will keep the limits of the alliance system flexible at the beginning to not upset or completely disrupt the current balance. For example, you might ask, "Why can an alliance have so many islands?" or "Why is the extra PVE damage support given to guilds in an alliance so low?" The answer is, as we said, we want to improve the system cautiously and through trial and error to not negatively affect the balance initially. There will definitely be aspects of the system that are liked or disliked, and as we mentioned, we will observe these over time and improve according to needs. For this reason, we cannot know the best and most correct options without testing the system first.

We are considering using the alliance system in much more enjoyable areas in the future, so we are acting cautiously to have a clean and problem-free system. Additionally, we are adding some precautions to ensure there are no exploits in the alliance system, such as a waiting period for changing alliances.

With this system, our goal is not to give more power to strong guilds or alliances, but rather to provide extra buffs and support to weaker guilds and alliances without any islands. Therefore, questions like "Why don't we get extra buffs for having islands?" would be contrary to the logic of this system.

# Details of the planned alliance system:
All guilds can form a new alliance. A fee of 5m gold will be deducted from the guild's treasury to form an alliance.
After leaving an alliance, the waiting period to join a new one is 72 hours.
If a guild is part of an alliance, the alliance tag will appear next to the guild tag. To see alliance tags, activate the "alliance visibility" setting in the graphic settings. For example, if the MOD guild is part of the BOS alliance, it will appear as [BOS/MOD] instead of [MOD] to the left of the username.
The leaders of the guild that formed the alliance can accept or reject applications to the alliance or expel a guild from the alliance. If the founding guild closes the guild or leaves the alliance, the alliance will automatically be closed.
If there are more than 14 islands in an alliance, the "initial tower build costs x3" will apply for the subsequent islands. If the number of islands of the alliance drops below the limit before building towers, the "initial tower build costs will be x1 again."
If a guild leaves an alliance and the 72-hour waiting period has not yet expired, the "initial tower build costs x3" will apply for the new islands taken during this period. Thus, it will be more challenging to leave the alliance to build towers for the islands after the limit and then rejoin the alliance.
In the battle point system, the alliance system will also be effective in addition to the friend-enemy list. So, even if a guild has removed another guild from its friend list, no battle points will be awarded if they are in the same alliance.
In alliance maps (for guilds that do not own that island), there will be a 5% faster repair and a 5% extra system ship reward.
Members included in the alliance will gain up to 1% extra PVE damage for up to 5 alliance islands.
If the guilds do not have 2 or more islands of their own, the extra PVE damage taken from the islands cannot exceed 5%. In other words, the alliance system does not provide extra PVE damage to guilds that own islands, but only supports other guilds in the alliance with extra PVE damage.

  • Example 1: If the guild has one island of its own, it cannot receive an extra PVE damage reward from alliance islands because it already has 5% extra damage.
  • Example 2: If the guild has 2 or more islands of its own, it cannot receive an extra PVE damage reward from alliance islands because it already has 10% extra damage.
  • Example 3: If the guild has no islands of its own and the alliance it belongs to has 3 islands, the extra PVE damage it receives will be 3%, 1% for each island. If there are 5 or more islands, the extra PVE damage will be 5%.
To benefit from the buffs of alliance islands, the towers of those islands must be upgraded to level 3 at least once after the island has changed hands.

# Notes on the alliance system:
The criteria for creating the first tower will be checked according to the tower level. If the first upgrade is done with a lower-level tower, the x3 cost will not apply to the subsequent lower-level tower creation processes. Therefore, we recommend directly building the tower at the level you want to permanently equip the island towers with. For example, if you first make the first tower level 2 and then make it level 3, you will pay x3 gold twice. However, if you build the first tower as level 3 from the beginning, all the subsequent tower build costs for that tower will be charged at x1.

Hello,

As you know, we recently added an alliance system to the game. The purpose of this system is to prevent all islands from being collected on one side or in the same guilds, and to ensure that the weaker side can also own an island. Islands continue to change hands almost every week. When we sent the above message, the islands were with one alliance, but now they are with the other alliance. As can be seen, the alliance system has not yet achieved its intended goal. As management, we cannot determine the sides in the game or forcibly distribute the islands. What we can do is encourage the distribution of islands through changes in the alliance system. Accordingly, we have made some changes in the bonus features of the alliance and island systems.

  1. Now, 1 guild island will give 5% PVE damage, and for the second guild island, an additional +2% PVE damage will be added, making a total of 7% PVE damage. (Previously, 2 islands gave 10% PVE damage)
  2. The fast repair bonus from alliance islands has been revised to 10%. (Previously, it was 5% repair bonus)
  3. The maximum PVE damage rate from alliance islands has been increased from 5% to 7%. So even if your guild has no islands, you can have up to 7% PVE damage thanks to your alliance’s islands, with each island giving 1%. (Previously, the maximum PVE damage from alliance islands was 5%)
  4. If the guild has at least one island, the maximum PVE rate it can get from alliance islands will increase from 7% to 10%. So if the guild has its own island, the PVE rate can go up to 10%; if it doesn’t have its own island, the PVE rate can go up to 7%.
The percentages may seem complex at first, but the system is simple. For example:
Example 1: If the AAA guild has no islands but its alliance has 3 islands, the PVE damage rate it will receive will be 3%. If the same guild’s alliance has 6 islands, the PVE damage it will receive will be 6%, and if it has 7 or more islands, it will be 7%.

Example 2: If the AAA guild has 1 island and its alliance has less than 5 islands, the PVE damage rate it will receive will still be 5%. If the same guild has 2 islands and its alliance has less than 7 islands, the PVE damage rate it will receive will still be 7%. Because even if the alliance has no islands, the guild has its own island.

Example 3: If the AAA guild has minimum 1 island and its alliance has 6 islands, the PVE damage rate it will receive will be 6%; if its alliance has 8 islands, the PVE damage rate will be 8%; if its alliance has 10 or more islands, the maximum PVE damage will be 10%.

As we have mentioned before, we will continue to monitor the system after the update. If the alliance system is still not effective, we will continue to note the needs and make necessary changes in the alliance system. This system limits the acquisition of islands, aiming for alliances to have fewer islands and each alliance to have its own islands. Although players are competitors, your opponent must also have maps they can play. Otherwise, owning all the islands alone would not be enjoyable for either side.

To have competition in the game, the balance of power must be maintained. As management, we have no intention of making money through islands. If that were our goal, we would relax the island limit and increase the buff rates. We wouldn’t switch to the guild case system instead of the island case. It takes only donation 40k gold for per guild members to equip an island with tower 3, and you can already earn this gold by doing one daily quest. The main purpose of this system is to create a more enjoyable environment by balancing the power. Therefore, we believe everyone will contribute to observing the shortcomings and successfully using the alliance system.

Regards,
Have fun.

Hello,

As you know, we frequently make updates and adjustments to balance the power between guilds in the game. Last year, we introduced the alliance system. This ensures that not all islands belong to a single guild or alliance. However, when we added this system, there were only 2 alliances in the game. Now the number of alliances has increased, so we felt the need to make a change.

Within this scope, we are changing the island limit from 14 to 10. There are a total of 22 islands on the map. This way, at least 3 alliances can own islands. Additionally, an island abandonment feature will be added to the game. This allows you to abandon islands you have captured but do not want to use, or islands you don’t want to fill your island limit with, and transfer them to the MOD guild.
Have fun!

Hello,

We continue to make adjustments through our Alliance system and support weaker alliances and guilds in order to help maintain the balance of power. Within this scope, we have changed the rule so that once an alliance has an island with a built Tower3, the other guilds within that alliance will now receive a minimum of 5% PVE buff instead of only 1%. Previously, if a guild didn’t have its own island but its alliance did island, it would receive 1% for one island, 2% for two islands, 3% for three islands, up to a maximum of 7%. With this update, between 1 and 5 islands, there will now always be at least 5% extra damage. After 5 islands, the old system continues with +1% per additional island.
Have fun!
