Hello Pirates,
Recently, we held a vote regarding the alliance system topic, which can be found at https://forum.battleofsea.com/tr/thread-87. In this thread, we mentioned that the balance of power in the game is constantly shifting, and you should vote with the awareness that while you may be the stronger side today, you could be the weaker side tomorrow. On the day we opened the vote, all the islands were in one alliance. However, as you can see in the image below, today's guild islands have completely reversed, with all the islands now gathering in the other alliance. We want to remind you again that power will change hands again in a short time, as it always has and will continue to do so throughout our game's six-year life.
While the frequent shift of power is a positive aspect, the alliance that takes all the islands reduces the competition and fun in the game. A side without any islands finds it difficult to even complete missions in the game. We clearly state that we always support equal or near-equal power, which is why we continue to make updates to support weaker guilds and alliances. Let's remember, equal and balanced competition always leads to more enjoyable battles.
Our alliance system is entirely new and planned from scratch. Therefore, initially, there may be shortcomings or disadvantages for the game. We will observe these shortcomings over time and improve the alliance system with future updates. Our goal is to adjust the balance of power, so we will keep the limits of the alliance system flexible at the beginning to not upset or completely disrupt the current balance. For example, you might ask, "Why can an alliance have so many islands?" or "Why is the extra PVE damage support given to guilds in an alliance so low?" The answer is, as we said, we want to improve the system cautiously and through trial and error to not negatively affect the balance initially. There will definitely be aspects of the system that are liked or disliked, and as we mentioned, we will observe these over time and improve according to needs. For this reason, we cannot know the best and most correct options without testing the system first.
We are considering using the alliance system in much more enjoyable areas in the future, so we are acting cautiously to have a clean and problem-free system. Additionally, we are adding some precautions to ensure there are no exploits in the alliance system, such as a waiting period for changing alliances.
With this system, our goal is not to give more power to strong guilds or alliances, but rather to provide extra buffs and support to weaker guilds and alliances without any islands. Therefore, questions like "Why don't we get extra buffs for having islands?" would be contrary to the logic of this system.
# Details of the planned alliance system:
All guilds can form a new alliance. A fee of 5m gold will be deducted from the guild's treasury to form an alliance.
After leaving an alliance, the waiting period to join a new one is 72 hours.
If a guild is part of an alliance, the alliance tag will appear next to the guild tag. To see alliance tags, activate the "alliance visibility" setting in the graphic settings. For example, if the MOD guild is part of the BOS alliance, it will appear as [BOS/MOD] instead of [MOD] to the left of the username.
The leaders of the guild that formed the alliance can accept or reject applications to the alliance or expel a guild from the alliance. If the founding guild closes the guild or leaves the alliance, the alliance will automatically be closed.
If there are more than 14 islands in an alliance, the "initial tower build costs x3" will apply for the subsequent islands. If the number of islands of the alliance drops below the limit before building towers, the "initial tower build costs will be x1 again."
If a guild leaves an alliance and the 72-hour waiting period has not yet expired, the "initial tower build costs x3" will apply for the new islands taken during this period. Thus, it will be more challenging to leave the alliance to build towers for the islands after the limit and then rejoin the alliance.
In the battle point system, the alliance system will also be effective in addition to the friend-enemy list. So, even if a guild has removed another guild from its friend list, no battle points will be awarded if they are in the same alliance.
In alliance maps (for guilds that do not own that island), there will be a 5% faster repair and a 5% extra system ship reward.
Members included in the alliance will gain up to 1% extra PVE damage for up to 5 alliance islands.
If the guilds do not have 2 or more islands of their own, the extra PVE damage taken from the islands cannot exceed 5%. In other words, the alliance system does not provide extra PVE damage to guilds that own islands, but only supports other guilds in the alliance with extra PVE damage.
- Example 1: If the guild has one island of its own, it cannot receive an extra PVE damage reward from alliance islands because it already has 5% extra damage.
- Example 2: If the guild has 2 or more islands of its own, it cannot receive an extra PVE damage reward from alliance islands because it already has 10% extra damage.
- Example 3: If the guild has no islands of its own and the alliance it belongs to has 3 islands, the extra PVE damage it receives will be 3%, 1% for each island. If there are 5 or more islands, the extra PVE damage will be 5%.
# Notes on the alliance system:
The criteria for creating the first tower will be checked according to the tower level. If the first upgrade is done with a lower-level tower, the x3 cost will not apply to the subsequent lower-level tower creation processes. Therefore, we recommend directly building the tower at the level you want to permanently equip the island towers with. For example, if you first make the first tower level 2 and then make it level 3, you will pay x3 gold twice. However, if you build the first tower as level 3 from the beginning, all the subsequent tower build costs for that tower will be charged at x1.
